Job Description

Lynn Urgent Care is a brand new, state of the art, Urgent Care located in the heart of Lynn, MA and is looking for part and full time radiology technicians. Our large six bed urgent care is currently undergoing construction with a planned opening in Fall 2020. Our staff will be composed of a team specially trained in emergency, family, or urgent care medicine, and includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiology technicians and certified medical assistants under the supervision and direction of two medical directors (Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine). We provide a very competitive salary for full & part-time techs. No night coverage or on-call required. Benefit package for full-time providers to include paid time off and medical insurance.
Job Summary:
The hybrid role of Rad Tech in the urgent care setting is unique as in addition to being responsible for working primarily as clinical support and taking X-Rays as needed, the Rad Tech also assists Providers in the examination and treatment of patients following Lynn Urgent Care's standards and practices as directed by the Provider leader. Performs other clerical and administrative tasks as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes X-Rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials. Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to Department Head Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies Performs basic nursing duties which include: answering phones, greeting patients upon arrival, checking patients into the system, collecting co-pays, pre-authorizing credit cards, collecting payments, rooming patients, taking vitals and patient histories, obtaining chief complaint, completing point of care lab testing, scheduling ancillary appointments, and discharging patients. Responsible for packaging, signing of medical records release forms and logging X-rays. Ensuring all radiographs achieve a radiographic interpretation by clarifying discrepancies. Qualifications and Skills Minimum high school degree or equivalent ARRT or equivalent Appropriate Massachusetts licensure for nuclear safety Up-to-date on annual radiating protection in-service, and provide documentation Up-to-date on annual blood borne pathogen in-service, and provide documentation Up-to-date on injections, and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines 1-3+ years of clinical patient care experience in a hospital / LTAC setting, highly desirable Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required Spanish/Russian language skills highly desirable but not required
