Job Description

A Radiology Assistant provides support to technologists in the delivery of diagnostic imaging services. This role includes assisting with patient preparation, transportation, and safety screening, as well as clerical and environmental duties that ensure smooth department operations. The Radiology Assistant works closely with the care team to provide patients with a safe, comfortable, and positive experience. To be successful as a Radiology Assistant, you should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
Must be willing to work weeknights from 5 pm to 12 am, weekends and holidays as needed.
Radiology Assistant Responsibilities:
Welcome, transport, and prepare patients for both CT and X-Ray Explain procedures and safety requirements to patients in a clear and supportive manner. Assist technologists with patient positioning and equipment setup as directed. Perform patient safety screenings and verify documentation prior to exams. Support technologists in maintaining workflow efficiency, including room turnover and stocking supplies. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety of imaging areas. Perform other duties as assigned.
Radiology Assistant Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior healthcare or patient care experience preferred; radiology experience is a plus but not required (on-the-job training will be provided). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow established protocols. Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing clinical needs. Commitment to professional conduct and adherence to patient confidentiality standards.
