Job Description:
The MRI Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. This role requires technical expertise, patient care skills, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of specified areas of the body.

Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.

Review patient history and physicians orders to determine appropriate imaging protocols.

Monitor patients during scans for adverse reactions or discomfort.

Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.

Ensure MRI equipment is functioning properly; report malfunctions and coordinate maintenance.

Follow radiation safety and infection control procedures.

Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Educate patients about the MRI procedure and address any concerns.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
Certification:
ARRT (MRI) certification required or eligible.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Experience:
Minimum 12 years of experience in MRI imaging preferred.

Experience with advanced MRI techniques (e.g., cardiac, neuro, musculoskeletal) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow imaging protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
