Job Description

The Mammographer for the Hannibal Mobile Radiology Program will provide high-quality mammography services to patients in rural and underserved communities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring early detection of breast cancer and other breast health issues by performing screening and diagnostic mammograms on the mobile imaging coach. The Mammographer will work collaboratively with the program team to create a positive patient experience, maintain compliance with imaging standards, and promote breast health education. Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology required. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification in Mammography (M). Minimum of 5 years of experience in mammography, with mobile imaging experience preferred. Knowledge of MQSA standards and other relevant regulations. Ability to work effectively in a mobile environment and adapt to varying locations and patient populations. Proficiency in operating mammography equipment and related software systems. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious or uncooperative patients. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on compassionate patient care. Ability to assess images for quality and troubleshoot issues during scans. Quick decision-making in emergency situation. Precision in positioning patients and setting up equipment. Accurate documentation of procedures in patient records.
