PRN Job Summary:
Confirm correct patient, exam, and pregnancy status before imaging. Ensure comfort, safety, and accurate anatomical alignment. Operate radiologic equipment using ALARA principles to produce high‑quality images. Safely prepare, explain, and monitor IV or oral contrast when required. Assess vitals and watch for medication or contrast reactions. Review images, complete QA, and transfer studies accurately to PACS. Use shielding, control exposure areas, and follow all safety standards. Prepare supplies and assist with specialized or sterile imaging exams. Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and post‑exam instructions clearly. Work with technologists, nurses, and providers to ensure smooth workflow and excellent patient experience.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
One to three years' experience in radiology is preferred.
EDUCATION
: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY
Current license in the State of Montana as a Radiology Technologist and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a temporary license in the State of Montana and AART registry eligible with ARRT guidance required. Permanent license and registration with ARRT will be required within 5 months of hire. Current BLS is required.
