Mercy Urgent Care is looking for compassionate and motivated Radiology Technologist Assistants to support our mission of providing exceptional, patient-centered care to the residents of Watauga County. About the Role As a Radiology Technologist Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the patient experience. You'll ensure safety, comfort, and high-quality diagnostic imaging while also assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks. This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in a certified Radiology Technologist program who want to develop hands-on expertise in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and create a supportive, welcoming environment. Perform imaging using CR and DR equipment, following ALARA safety standards. Assist with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, EKGs, spirometry, and drug screens. Provide patient support during splinting, bandaging, and minor procedures. Process radiology reports and ensure diagnostic images meet quality standards. Maintain patient safety by preventing slips, falls, and unnecessary radiation exposure. Collaborate with the team to prepare rooms, triage patients, and handle referrals. Uphold Mercy Urgent Care s values with professionalism, discretion, and a patient-first attitude. Qualifications To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements: Current enrollment in a certified Radiology Technologist program. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A high level of emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate issues, and proactively solve problems. Physical capability to perform medium work (lifting up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods.
