1 Description American Traveler is hiring a CT/Rad Tech Dual Modality for a freestanding emergency department setting, requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience and dual proficiency in DX and CT imaging. Details Work in a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 14 ED beds offering DX, CT, and ultrasound imaging services Emergency patient population with common presentations including MVC, shortness of breath, falls, injuries, and DVTs Average daily scan volume: approximately 40 DX, 35 CT, and 10 ultrasound studies Dual modality role requires proficiency in both diagnostic radiology (DX) and CT scanning Shift schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts, 36 hours/week) Typically staffed with 2-3 radiology technologists per shift; first shift includes 1 US Tech and 2 Dual DX/CT Techs No on-site radiologist — all scans are read remotely, including overnight
EMR:
Epic (experience required); also uses Philips iSite/PACS and TeraRecon 3D post-processing software Equipment includes GE CT Scanner 16-slice Optima 540, Siemens Acuson Sequoia ultrasound machine, Shimadzu XR portable, and Philips XR room Requires 3 on-call shifts (12 hours each) per month, covering both the Kannapolis and Harrisburg FSEDs (approximately 20-25 minutes apart) Holiday coverage is required Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in CT and/or diagnostic radiology specialty; ED experience in a trauma facility strongly preferred Active ARRT(R)(CT) certification required for the dual modality DX/CT role Current BLS required Active state license required, if applicable Must be able to work independently in a freestanding ED environment without on-site radiologist support Proficiency in scanning code strokes required Must have experience with or ability to perform both DX and CT imaging Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being considered Additional Information Perform dual modality DX and CT imaging for emergency department patients, including portable X-ray as needed throughout the ED Must be comfortable working independently, as no transport staff is available on-site On-site supervisor is available Monday-Friday day shift, rotating between Harrisburg and Kannapolis FSEDs 3-day departmental orientation provided Black scrubs required Free employee parking available on-site Department culture is described as team-oriented First-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on experience
