Job Description

Overview The Radiology Tech Aide supports the diagnostic imaging team by assisting with patient preparation, procedure setup, and department workflow to ensure efficient and safe imaging services. This role is essential in maintaining a smooth clinical environment, improving patient experience, and supporting technologists and radiologists in delivering high-quality imaging care. Responsibilities Assist technologists in preparing patients for imaging procedures, including verifying patient identification, explaining procedures, and helping with gowning and positioning under supervision. Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department in a timely and safe manner, ensuring appropriate handling of IVs, oxygen, and monitoring equipment if needed. Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients, ensuring rooms and equipment are stocked, sanitized, and ready for use according to infection control policies. Maintain imaging supplies and assist in inventory management, including restocking linens, contrast materials, and consumables. Support image acquisition workflow by assisting with data entry, exam scheduling, image transfers, printing CDs, and handling other clerical tasks as directed. Monitor and manage patient flow within the department, coordinating with front desk staff, technologists, and nursing units to minimize wait times and maximize efficiency. Perform routine quality checks on equipment and alert staff to any maintenance or safety concerns. Provide general assistance to technologists and radiologists during procedures, such as retrieving supplies or helping with patient positioning under direction. Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital safety and privacy policies at all times. Any corresponding duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent in education and experience. 0-1 year experience Healthcare environment preferred
