•RWJBarnabas Health A typical day for an MRI Technologist may include: Providing high-quality patient care while performing diagnostic MRI examinations.
Reviewing physician orders, requisitions, and patient charts to ensure all necessary information is available before the examination.
Verifying patient identity using appropriate forms of identification and ensuring accurate patient information is reflected on all images.
Screening patients for allergies, contraindications, proper preparation, and MRI safety requirements prior to the procedure.
Selecting the appropriate type and number of images necessary to provide physicians with the information needed for diagnosis and treatment.
Preparing and positioning patients for examinations, including assisting patients onto and off the MRI examination table.
Explaining procedures to patients and their families before, during, and after the examination to help reduce anxiety.
Maintaining patient privacy, safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the examination.
Remaining calm and responsive during emergency situations and responding to patient call bells as needed.
This role might be for you if: You are a licensed Jersey Radiologic Technologist with specialized MRI credentials.
You have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality diagnostic images.
You enjoy working directly with patients and creating a safe, comfortable experience during their examination.
You can exercise sound judgment and discretion while working in a clinical environment.
You are comfortable following strict MRI safety and patient-identification procedures.
You remain calm and professional when handling unexpected or emergency situations.
To be considered for this MRI Technologist opportunity: Jersey State License as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
ARRT registration in MRI is required.
Successful completion of required orientation and applicable organizational requirements.
