RWJ University Hospital Rahway seeks a Special Procedure Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a community teaching-hospital setting. The technologist will prepare patients, operate specialized radiologic equipment, monitor patient status, and assist physicians during complex procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate imaging, adhering to radiation safety and infection control standards, maintaining detailed documentation, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, precept students, and participate in ongoing education to advance skills while serving the Rahway community with compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic and interventional special procedures according to physician orders and protocols. Prepare and position patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety. Operate fluoroscopy and other specialized imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images. Apply radiation safety, infection control, and sterile techniques at all times. Monitor patient condition during procedures and assist in emergency situations as needed. Document procedures, imaging data, and patient information accurately in electronic records. Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to optimize patient care. Maintain, troubleshoot, and arrange service for imaging equipment as needed. Participate in quality improvement, safety audits, and accreditation activities. Support education of students and new staff, and engage in ongoing professional development.
