The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Radiology Assistant - RWJBarnabas Health At RWJBarnabas Health, Radiology Assistants become part of a purpose-driven environment where teamwork, precision, and compassionate care come together to support exceptional patient outcomes. Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and/or Modality Lead Technologist, the Radiology Technical Assistant shall assist the technologists or radiologist with patient flow and procedures. Technical Assistants are not permitted to perform diagnostic examinations on patients. A typical day for a Radiology Assistant may include: Assisting the technical staff with patient flow and procedures Maintaining knowledge of designated procedure and protocols to assist the technologist or radiologist with the procedure including patient preparation. Maintaining knowledge of procedures, contraindications, and is able to accurately collect clinical information, necessary images and paperwork to acquire procedure approvals prior to scheduling. Obtaining clinical information from the patient or referring physician for the scheduled procedure Scheduling procedures Preparing trays and appropriate forms for procedures Monitoring supply stock and ordering supplies for procedures This role might be for you if: Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues You make continuous efforts to identify opportunities to exceed patient's expectations Use ethical discretion in discussions related to patient, personal, or organizational issues Take the initiative to identify problems and contribute to the solution Seek to grow professionally through attendance of continuing education seminars Maintain professional appearance, attitude, behavior, attendance, and punctuality always. Handle stressful situations in a manner which promotes a positive outcome To be considered for this Radiology Assistant opportunity, you must: High School graduate or equivalent required. Basic computer skills and medical terminology required. Certified medical assistant or currently enrolled in a radiology technologist program preferred.
