Job Description
Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging studies in a fast-paced clinical environment to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of patient conditions. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other care team members, you will prepare and position patients, operate CT scanners and related equipment, follow established imaging protocols, and ensure that images meet diagnostic quality standards. You will verify patient identity, review clinical histories and exam orders, screen patients for contraindications such as contrast allergies or renal impairment, and explain procedures to help patients feel informed, safe, and comfortable. Responsibilities include accurately administering IV contrast under protocol and monitoring for adverse reactions, adhering to radiation safety principles (ALARA), and maintaining strict infection prevention and patient privacy standards. You will document exams and contrast usage in the electronic health record and PACS, assist with scheduling coordination and workflow prioritization, and communicate critical findings or concerns to the appropriate clinicians. As part of the culture at Presbyterian Healthcare, you are expected to demonstrate respect, integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to quality and safety in every interaction. The position involves collaborating with colleagues to improve processes, participating in quality assurance and equipment performance checks, and reporting any equipment or image quality issues promptly. You will assist with training new staff or students as needed and keep your skills current through continuing education and cross-training opportunities. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to meaningful patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including potential evening, night, weekend, or on-call rotations depending on department needs. Candidates should bring solid technical proficiency in CT imaging, strong patient-care and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and focused in urgent or emergent situations. Presbyterian Healthcare Services offers a collaborative work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and the ability to make a measurable impact on community health through exceptional diagnostic care.
