Job Description:
The Radiology Attendant supports Radiographers and/or other Imaging Technologists with basic patient care during the performance or diagnostic radiologic examinations; maintains good radiation safety practices; assists with maintaining supplies and cleaning of rooms; transports to and from requested locations. Completes procedure documentation in the EMR as needed, under the supervision of an RT(R). Assists the imaging technologist with basic patient care necessary during imaging procedures. In collaboration with the imaging technologist, provides appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver. Operates all facility-based computer systems, including
EMR & PACS
(image management system). Transports, transfers and positions patients in a safe and appropriate fashion. Participates in radiation safety and quality assurance activities as related to patient care within the Imaging Department.
Job Qualifications:
High school or GED degree. Student enrolled in an AMA approved school for an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology preferred. Working toward GXMO licensure preferred. Clinical experience currently being obtained during student clinical rotations or clinical experience preferred. Maintain When Seconds Count certification.
