All Work Shifts (United States of America) Minimum of 2 shifts per Month Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Radiology Technologist Assistant supports the needs of the Radiology team with the use of the Radiology Information System, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills. Essential Job Functions Organizes rooms, stocks linen, changes and properly removes linen. Uses two patient identifiers prior to transporting patients to and from Radiology that are not requiring patient monitor or highflow oxygen. Properly operates stretchers, patient beds, and wheelchairs. Reviews daily department schedules in order to work efficiently with the Radiologic team members. Maintains office and medical supplies in all Imaging areas and informs team leader when supplies need to be ordered. Responds to patients and visitors promptly and politely. Operates radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable). Licensing/Certification BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required) Education High School Diploma or GED (required) 1 clinical semester completed in an imaging program, currently enrolled (required) Work Experience 1 year of patient care experience (preferred) Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred) Training EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred) Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred) Skills Monitor Patient Conditions Inform medical professionals of patient conditions and care attention to detail acceptance of authority Critical thinking Communication Teamwork Conflict resolution Active listening Relationship building Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.
