Job Description

Position Summary Performs diagnostic medical MRI procedures and radiographs while maintaining a high level of patient care/satisfaction. Position Accountabilities Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports. Provides radiologic services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using knowledge/skills unique to the requirements of each age group to ensure optimal patient care. Evaluate images to ensure diagnostic quality. Prepares the patient, explains the procedure, and ensures patient's cooperation during the examination. Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images. Obtains patient history, answers patient questions and explains the procedure. Charges out exams and supplies in a timely manner. Ensures exams are sent to and reach appropriate destinations for storage and interpretation. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room. Burns Disc for patient images from PAC's, MRI Tech—Radiology Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Maintains MRI, X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Performs the duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed. Performs the duties of Mammographer as needed. Performs the duties of Ultrasonographer as needed. Performs Dexi-Bone Density duties as needed. Performs Computed Tomographer duties as needed. Follows policies and procedures regarding attendance and work hours. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Attends meetings as required. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
