Job Description

In this role you will be: Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols. Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, cooperation, and safety throughout the exam. Properly screen patients for MRI contraindications, including implants, pacemakers, and metal objects. Position patients accurately and use appropriate coils and techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment, troubleshooting technical issues when necessary. Monitor patients during imaging, responding promptly to discomfort or medical needs. Maintain accurate documentation and enter data into PACS and electronic medical records (EMR). Adhere to MRI safety protocols, including maintaining Zone 4 safety standards and reporting safety concerns. Assist with contrast administration under physician or radiologist supervision, following all guidelines. Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and equipment maintenance routines.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
EDUCATION
Completion of an approved school of radiologic technology required
EXPERIENCE
2 years general radiologic technologist MRI experience preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Registered with the ARRT as an RT(R) Registered in MR within 1 year of hire beginning June 2005 Completion of MRI safety officer course and obtained certification within 1 year of hire required BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
