This role requires sound judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for accurate diagnostic imaging—without the need for constant supervision. Key Responsibilities Accurately identify patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for all procedures Review physician orders and patient history, applying departmental protocols to ensure optimal imaging results Document relevant patient history in the electronic medical record as required Administer oral (PO) and rectal contrast in accordance with physician orders and departmental policy Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols independently Operate complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation of image data Ensure exams are: Properly coded and tracked in the RIS system Networked to ISITE for interpretation and archiving Accurately charged for services rendered Exercise independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply radiation appropriately for diagnostic purposes Clearly explain procedures to patients, provide instructions, alleviate concerns, and encourage cooperation Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect when interacting with patients and colleagues Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient care Why Join Our Team?
