Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Schedule Weekdays:
8:30 AM•5:00
PM Weekends:
Every other weekend•Friday and Saturday nights, 11:30 PM•7:30
AM Holidays:
2 holiday shifts per year On‑

None Incentives & Benefits $10,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified applicants No on‑call responsibilities•enjoy better work‑life balance The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist performs a wide range of imaging procedures with a high level of technical expertise and independence. This role requires sound judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for accurate diagnostic imaging—without the need for constant supervision. Key Responsibilities Accurately identify patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for all procedures Review physician orders and patient history, applying departmental protocols to ensure optimal imaging results Document relevant patient history in the electronic medical record as required Administer oral (PO) and rectal contrast in accordance with physician orders and departmental policy Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols independently Operate complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation of image data Ensure exams are: Properly coded and tracked in the RIS system Networked to ISITE for interpretation and archiving Accurately charged for services rendered Exercise independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply radiation appropriately for diagnostic purposes Clearly explain procedures to patients, provide instructions, alleviate concerns, and encourage cooperation Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect when interacting with patients and colleagues Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient care Why Join Our Team? Education Graduate of an ARRT‑approved Radiologic Technology program , or Verification from an ARRT‑approved school confirming: Completion of program requirements and A scheduled graduation date Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision of an ARRT‑certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification is received Technologists may not work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained Licensure, Certifications & Clearances ARRT registry‑eligible as a Radiologic Technologist ARRT Radiography Certification required within: 6 months of hire for technologists hired on or after January 1, 2025 12 months of hire or transfer for technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025 CPR/BLS Certification required Must meet AHA standards , including both: Didactic instruction Skills demonstration Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire Outpatient & State‑Specific Requirements Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained
New York Facilities Only:
Must hold certification from ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Must be licensed through the New York State Department of Health Temporary Permit Guidelines (If Applicable) Must practice under direct supervision of a licensed radiologic technologist ARRT certification must be obtained within 180 days of temporary permit issuance Temporary permits expire upon the earliest of: 180 days from issue date Notification of license application denial 10 days after notification of failure of the licensing exam ARRT Certificate Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
