Position Summary:
The CT Technologist (CTT) will performplex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
CT Technologist through one of two ways required:
Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology pluspletion of an accredited CT program or;
Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology plus on-the-job training in CT with 3 years of continued provenpetence. Experience Previous CT experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Registered in CT Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. (or certified within 18 months of employment.
Certified under the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet all patients and their apanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
Responsible for positioning patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
Assist radiologist with imaging procedures.
Start IV's and injecting contrast.
Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label and transmit to PACS.
Schedule patients for procedures.
Assist with clerical functions and maintain accurate patient records.
Provide orientation and training to new CT technologists and provides education and training to student technologists.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Work effectively and collaboratively with imaging colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
Effectively utilize stronganizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbal and writtenmunication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
Regularly exercise independent judgment.
