Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic X-ray and fluoroscopic imaging procedures as ordered by orthopaedic providers in accordance with ALARA and safety principles. Position patients accurately to obtain optimal images of the musculoskeletal system (spine, joints, and extremities). Operate digital radiography (DR) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) equipment proficiently. Verify patient identification and confirm physician orders before performing examinations. Review and evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic completeness before submitting to physicians or radiologists. Educate and guide patients through the imaging process, ensuring comfort, safety, and understanding. Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) and PACS systems. Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of radiographic equipment and supplies. Adhere to all safety standards, infection control protocols, and radiation protection guidelines. Collaborate with orthopedic physicians, physician assistants, and clinical staff to ensure timely imaging workflow. Participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance procedures. Maintain continuing education and certification requirements in compliance with state and national standards.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Certification and Experience:

Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R). Minimum of one (1) year of MRI experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
