Job Description

PET/CT Technologist - PET Seacoast Cancer Center •$10,000 Sign On Available! Job Summary Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Performs various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing the application of radionuclides while adhering to radiation safety policies. Identifies and insures quality control measures for imaging, measurement, and surveying equipment are completed and documented to comply with regulatory requirements. Maintains compliance with radiation safety policies and documentation requirements for receiving, administering, and waste disposal of radiopharmaceuticals. Greets and confirms patient ID per hospital policy, verifies patient's orders for procedure, completes patient history questionnaire with patient, explains procedures to patients, properly positions patients for procedures and informs patient of what they may expect during the procedure. Performs venipuncture utilizing aseptic technique and injects patient with appropriate radiopharmaceutical per protocol. Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure, based on diagnosis, body habitus, and radionuclide used. Orders radiopharmaceuticals required for patient procedures and assists in maintaining departmental supply inventory. Processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality and documents all details of the performed procedure in the patient's medical record. Continues to develop professionalism through continuing education programs and in-services. Complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service. Performs PET/CT examinations during scheduled hours. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
80 Hours Bi-weekly.
Day Shift Licenses/Certifications/Registration/Education:
Graduate of an approved school in Nuclear Medicine. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT or other CT certification (NMTCB, etc.) Nuclear Medicine and CT Certification with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. BLS required
