About Us:
Central Texas Heart Center is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic imaging services. We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team to perform Lexiscan and treadmill stress tests with SPECT imaging procedures. The technologist will be crossed trained to cover PET CT.
Position Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, with a focus on Lexiscan (regadenoson) and treadmill stress tests and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) scans with imaging. The ideal candidate ensures patient safety, accurate imaging, and adherence to all regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Lexiscan stress tests, including patient preparation, administration of regadenoson, and monitoring vital signs. Conduct SPECT imaging studies in accordance with established protocols. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately. Monitor and observe patients for adverse reactions during and after procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards, including radiation safety protocols. Assist physicians with image acquisition, processing, and interpretation as needed. Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly. Provide coverage for PET CT when necessary. Provide compassionate, patient-focused care throughout all procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) certification or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification. Experience performing Lexiscan and treadmill stress tests and SPECT imaging preferred. Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and imaging protocols. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. ACLS and CPR certification required.
