Full-Time About the Role Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist II to join our imaging team. In this role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing disease, injury, and other medical conditions. As a community-owned, nonprofit hospital serving Del Rio and the surrounding Southwest Texas region, VVRMC is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care close to home. You will play a key role in supporting that mission by ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient imaging services for a diverse patient population. Working under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Radiologist, this position contributes to a collaborative care environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities Operate imaging equipment to produce accurate, high-quality images Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards (ALARA) Verify patient identity using two identifiers and maintain HIPAA compliance Educate and prepare patients for procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation Adjust exposure factors based on patient condition and exam requirements Maintain equipment and ensure imaging rooms are clean and stocked Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment as needed Assist with imaging in OR, ER, and bedside settings Review images for quality and accuracy prior to physician interpretation Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation Support training of new staff and students Report incidents and contribute to quality and safety improvements What We're Looking For Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Holds a post-primary registry (minimum of two registries required) Licensed by the State of Texas (Texas Medical Board) to administer ionizing radiation Current Basic CPR certification Strong attention to detail and patient care focus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to perform in high-volume, fast-paced environments Nice to Have Experience with multiple imaging modalities (CT, MRI, etc.) Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and imaging physics Experience mentoring or training staff Prior hospital or acute care experience Work Environment & Expectations Full-time position Fast-paced clinical environment May require evenings, weekends, or on-call coverage Why Join Val Verde Regional Medical Center Community-focused hospital with a strong local impact Collaborative, patient-centered care environment Access to advanced imaging technology Opportunities for professional growth and development Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants.
