PRN / Per Diem What We Offer Competitive Pay Matching 401(k) Opportunities for career advancement Job Summary The CT Technologist II performs advanced computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. You will ensure high-quality cross-sectional images for radiologist interpretation while providing compassionate patient care. You must demonstrate expertise in CT protocols, patient safety, radiation protection, and contrast administration while maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.Essential Functions Imaging Excellence:
Performs CT procedures with accuracy and efficiency using established protocols; operates and adjusts equipment to optimize image clarity.Patient Care:
Prepares patients by screening for contraindications, obtaining medical histories, providing clear instructions, and ensuring proper positioning.Safety & Verification:
Ensures accurate patient identification, verifies physician orders, and adheres to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.Contrast Administration:
Administers contrast media per safety guidelines; uses I-Stat devices for creatinine/GFR testing and monitors for allergic reactions.Interventional Support:
Assists in biopsies and drain placements by preparing sterile fields and assisting radiologists.Technical Oversight:
Performs quality control checks, troubleshoots equipment, and maintains a clean, stocked work area.Leadership & Documentation:
Records info in RIS/EMR; collaborates on protocol updates; trains and mentors other CT staff.Qualifications Requirements:
Education:
2-4 years of clinical experience acquired through an accredited radiologic sciences program.License:
Licensed Radiologic Technologist (as applicable by state).Certification:
CT (Computed Tomography) certification issued by ARRT.Life Support:
BCLS (Basic Life Support) required within 90 days of hire.Preferred Experience:
3-5 years of experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care hospital setting. (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in CT imaging techniques, contrast administration, and cross-sectional anatomy. Ability to recognize and respond to emergency conditions (e.g., contrast reactions). Expertise in PACS, RIS, and EMR systems. Strong communication skills to alleviate patient anxiety in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with sterile field techniques for interventional procedures.Benefits:
