MRI TECHNOLOGIST I
- REQUIRED
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- + Completion of MRI training program including UTMB MR Training Program or equivalent + 0+ years of experience
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
- + American Heart Association (BLS) + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) + Must be MRI certified or MRI registry-eligible at the time of hire.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Fridaysovernight 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, with possibility of call rotation
JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I position works independently to complete a variety of routine MR procedures to include common and specialty MR exams of moderate complexity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- + Promotes a positive work environment.

procedures. + Optimizes protocols to provide better patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. + Assists physicians during diagnostic or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique. + Utilizes AIDET incorporating Key Words andMANGAGE UP
techniques, when speaking to patients and family members at an age-appropriate level. + Follows all MR safety policy and procedures accordingly. + Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures. + Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies. + Participates in WASTE walks and supports department LEAN projects. + Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. + Performs weekly imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use. + Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance, as appropriate. + Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered. + Uses resources efficiently; does not waste supplies. + Ensures their personal timecard is accurate and approves it in a timely manner to prevent retro amendments. + Participates in department projects or shared governance activities. + Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a technologist.MRI TECHNOLOGIST II

- The MRI Technologist II position is an experienced technologist who completes a variety of routine to complex MR procedures to include common and specialty MR exams of high difficulty.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- + Completion of an MRI Training program to include the UTMB MR Training program. + Proficient in advance interventional cases & MR diagnostic cases of the head, cardiac, prostate and breast + 3+ years of experience
