Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pmJob Summary:
This Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for helping perform a variety of complex specialized tasks, including but not limited to, operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This individual is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs. Circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within the Product of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination. The IR Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their Product of licensure. The IR Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties. Appropriately adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities. Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the Product of the Managers license(s), certification(s), and/or documented competencies. Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required. Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS. Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed. Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate follow-up. Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.Experience:
1 year of training/experience in special procedures preferred. Basic computer experience required.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
Radiography (R) by ARRT is required. Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT is required. State Licensure required-Texas:
MRT byTMB. BLS
required (AHA only). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred (AHA only).Work Type:
