Job Description

Category Imaging - Mammography Job Type Contract Perform radiographic mammography procedures that produce high-quality diagnostic images to aid in the detection of breast tissue abnormalities. This important role requires independent judgment and initiative to deliver excellent patient care and accurate imaging in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify patient identity and medical orders, preparing patients comfortably and respectfully for mammography exams. Conduct standard and advanced mammographic procedures, including stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages, following department protocols. Operate mammography equipment skillfully to produce diagnostic-quality images. Apply appropriate radiation protection techniques to ensure safety for patients and staff, adhering to ALARA principles. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new procedures and technologies to ensure the highest standards of imaging. Accurately document all required information, including time stamps and image storage, to comply with JCAHO and Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control regulations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech). Bachelor's degree in a health science program from an accredited institution (degree verification required). Valid UT State License. ARRT (R)(M) certification is required. Current BLS certification. Radiation badge compliance is mandatory.
Schedule:
4 days per week, 10-hour shifts. Weekend availability required.
