The Role As a member of UVA Health's MRI team, you will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that performs a broad spectrum of routine and advanced imaging studies. A typical day may include:

Screening patients and ensuring MRI safety protocols are followed prior to imaging procedures Preparing patients for exams and facilitating high-quality MRI scans Collaborating with radiologists regarding imaging orders and study requirements Assisting fellow technologists with patient movement, positioning, and workflow coordination Supporting room turnover and maintaining a safe, efficient imaging environment Stocking equipment and supplies to ensure operational readiness Delivering compassionate patient care while maintaining exceptional image quality and patient safety standards Working with a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, ICU, pediatric, and outpatient patients Participating in ongoing education and advanced imaging training opportunities This role is ideal for MRI professionals who enjoy variety, clinical complexity, teamwork, and the opportunity to build expertise across multiple subspecialties within magnetic resonance imaging. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Experienced candidate(s) should have completed MRI training/competency via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
• Inexperienced candidate(s) at a minimum, must be certified in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Sonography, or Vascular Sonography.
• Associate's Degree preferred, but not required.

Experience:

MRI experience preferred but not required.

Licensure:

• Experienced candidate(s) must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
• Inexperienced candidate(s) must be registered in X-Ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy by one or more of the following agencies: "ARRT
• The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; ARDMS
• The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or NMTCB
• The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board."
• MRI Certification via the ARRT or ARMRIT must be successfully completed within 9 months of hire.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
