MRI Technologist Salary Range:

$95,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications Urgent Opening Position Summary We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a hospital-based Radiology team. Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and Medical Director, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures involving Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This position works with limited supervision and requires the ability to independently perform MRI procedures while exercising sound judgment and initiative. The successful candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of MRI safety, patient care, imaging protocols, and quality standards. The Radiology Department provides diagnostic imaging services to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients of all ages. The department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and includes a multidisciplinary team of radiologic technologists, nuclear medicine technologists, support staff, and radiologists. Key Responsibilities Independently perform MRI examinations according to established protocols and physician orders. Operate MRI equipment safely and effectively while maintaining high-quality diagnostic images. Apply comprehensive MRI safety principles and screening procedures to protect patients, staff, and visitors. Exercise independent judgment and initiative when performing technical procedures. Properly position and communicate with patients throughout MRI examinations. Assess patients' needs and provide appropriate care before, during, and after procedures. Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for MRI safety and patient care. Monitor patients during examinations and respond appropriately to changes in their condition. Administer contrast media when applicable and within scope of practice. Perform venipuncture as required for contrast-enhanced examinations. Maintain accurate patient and procedure documentation. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities. Maintain imaging equipment and report equipment or safety concerns promptly. Follow infection-control and patient-safety practices. Maintain professional competency through continuing education and training. Work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Graduation from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology. Previous MRI experience in a hospital setting. Current ARRT certification/registry. Current MRI registry/certification. Current CPR certification. Venipuncture certification required; may be obtained within three months of hire. Strong understanding of MRI safety practices and procedures. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment. Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and professional patient care. Preferred Experience Experience working with patients across a variety of age groups and clinical conditions. Experience in an acute-care or hospital-based Radiology Department. Experience with emergency and inpatient MRI procedures. Strong knowledge of MRI quality assurance and safety standards. Work Environment This is a hospital-based position supporting patients across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency-care settings. The Radiology Department operates 24/7, and the position may require flexibility to accommodate departmental scheduling needs. The role requires the ability to work in an environment where patient needs may vary from routine diagnostic examinations to urgent and emergency procedures.

Compensation Estimated Salary Range:
