  • Technologist Trainee
  • learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of Radiology through on-the job training under the direction of a registered technologist.
  • Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • + Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety.
+ Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements. + Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met. + Other job duties as needed.
  • Position Requirements:
  • + High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
+ Successful completion of a Radiology School. + Certificate from College or Technical School. + Certified by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS. + Continuing education of the structure component to the Radiology exam. + State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable. + CPR certification. + Valid state driver's license, if applicable. + Ability to work at several locations. + Strong customer service skills. + Organizational and multi-tasking skills. + 5% Travel may be required. + The
COVID-19
vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. + All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
  • Preferred:
  • + Associate's Degree. + Certificate from College or Technical School. + Completion of a Radiology Program. + Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced Radiology studies independently + Technical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipment + Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contract
  • Physical Requirements:
  • The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, a strong magnetic field and blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
+ More than 50% of the time: + Sit, stand, walk. + Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs. + See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients. + Less than 50% of the time: + Stoop, kneel or crawl. + Climb and balance. + Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
