Job Description

Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for a PRN As-Needed Radiology Technician to join the team.
Summary of Job:
The Radiology Technologist performs radiological imaging examinations skillfully to capture high-quality diagnostic images. This position works closely with radiologists, physicians, and facility staff and requires the ability to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with patients of all backgrounds and with all Castle Rock Hospital District staff. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, radiation protection, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
Patient Care & Imaging Welcome and prepare patients for radiologic procedures by gathering patient information and communicating preparation instructions, including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with the procedure. Position patients and equipment to perform x-rays and DXA scans as ordered by physicians. Position patients properly to obtain optimal images and minimize unnecessary radiation exposure. Apply radiation safety measures and protective devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members. Communicate calmly and compassionately with patients throughout the imaging process. Perform other related duties as assigned. Imaging & Records Management Receive and verify orders from outside and in-house physicians. Ensure proper image identification on all images and create x-ray CD copies as needed. DICOM each exam on PACS with complete patient history and prior comparison exams for radiologist interpretation. Ensure patient demographics are provided to Medical Imaging Associates for billing of radiology interpretation. Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Equipment & Quality Assurance Perform daily QA phantom scans on DXA equipment. Perform bi-annual QA of lead shields and foam positioners. Complete an ABN for all Medicare DXA exams and verify proper diagnosis codes are assigned. Maintain the department in a clean and organized condition. Work harmoniously with physicians and Castle Rock Hospital District employees. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education High school diploma or GED required. Licensure & Certifications Current State of Wyoming Radiology Technologist license with yearly renewal required. Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with maintained continuing education (CE) credits required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or ASHI required.
Wage & Benefits:
The pay scale starts at $26.06/hour and up, depending on experience. Generous 401(k) & 401(k) Matching. No Weekends.
