  • Full-time Activities Director Mobile, AL Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Benefits | Leadership Opportunity Make a Difference Every Day A skilled nursing home facility is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and organized Activities Director to lead our Therapeutic Recreation Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative professional who is passionate about improving the quality of life for residents through engaging, meaningful, and individualized recreational programming. As the Recreation Therapy Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the activity and therapeutic recreation program while leading a team dedicated to enhancing residents' physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and supervise a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program. Develop engaging daily, weekly, monthly, evening, and weekend activity calendars. Ensure programs meet the physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of residents. Complete resident assessments and develop individualized activity care plans. Lead, mentor, and schedule recreation staff and volunteers. Coordinate community outings, special events, entertainers, holiday celebrations, and family activities. Collaborate with Nursing, Therapy, Social Services, Dietary, and Administration to promote resident-centered care. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding activities and resident rights. Monitor department budget, supplies, and equipment. Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Develop innovative programs for residents with dementia, behavioral health diagnoses, and complex medical needs. Foster an engaging and welcoming environment throughout the facility. Qualifications Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification. Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Recreational Management, or a related field preferred. Experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to motivate staff while creating meaningful resident experiences. Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
