In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will create a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of seniors while utilizing your skills in event planning, recreational therapy, and senior care. Responsibilities Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure activities support residents' physical and cognitive needs, assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as necessary Lead engaging recreational sessions such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and social events that foster community participation Maintain detailed records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve program offerings Collaborate with families and caregivers to incorporate personalized activities that enhance residents' quality of life Manage scheduling logistics for activities ensuring consistent engagement while respecting individual routines Stay informed on aging issues counseling, Alzheimer's care best practices, and memory care techniques to provide safe and effective programming Requirements Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments Strong background in senior care, including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or memory support programs Knowledge of recreational therapy methods and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners Ability to assist residents with ADLs when needed and adapt activities for varying mobility levels Experience managing schedules efficiently while balancing multiple programs and resident needs Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and understanding the unique challenges faced by seniors Prior work experience in home & community care settings is highly desirable Join us in creating a lively community where every day is filled with meaningful moments!
