Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our post- acute community. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing residents' quality of life by planning, coordinating, and leading engaging activities tailored to their interests and needs. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational activities, events, and programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity among residents Collaborate with team members to develop personalized activity plans that meet individual resident preferences and care needs Assist residents with daily activities (ADLs—Activities of Daily Living) such as hobbies, games, outings, and therapeutic exercises Coordinate resident events by managing schedules, supplies, and logistics to ensure smooth execution Build strong rapport with residents through meaningful interactions, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere Maintain accurate records of activities participated in and resident engagement levels for documentation and reporting purposes Support residents' emotional well-being by providing companionship and engaging in conversations about their interests and life stories Skills Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and working with individuals with disabilities Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, team members, and community partners Ability to develop engaging programs tailored to diverse resident needs and abilities Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care or home & community care settings Proficiency in Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Demonstrated ability to build rapport with seniors while maintaining professionalism and empathy Skilled in coordinating resident events from conception through execution with attention to detail Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs and aging issues counseling as needed Leadership qualities to work collaboratively within a team environment focused on resident-centered care Join us as an Activities Assistant where your energy fuels joyful experiences!
