A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

is a nationwide healthcare staffing company that has partnered with Correctional Facilities across your State to help them find AMAZING Nurses. We're looking for you to become a valued member of the healthcare team at our client's medical facility!
Pay Rate:
$54 / hour W2 Details Full Time Schedules Some weekends may be required 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)

Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm (30) or Tues-Friday 7am-5:30pm (30) Duties Assess patient needs Consider medical records Personal observation and talks with the patient and his or her loved ones Execute a therapeutic program targeted toward what that patient requires most Keep current on communal and therapeutic resources available to best help the patients Document a patient's progress during their activities Other duties assigned my supervisor Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Recreational Therapist Ability to build rapport with patients Compassionate and caring demeanor Familiarity with medical terminology A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
CERTIFICATES ACCEPTED FROM THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR THERAPUTIC CERTIFICATON
(NCTRC)
OR THE CALIFORNIA BOARD OF RECREATON AND PARK CERTIFICATION
