A Recreational Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving movement, sports, games, and other activities for brain stimulation. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Recreation Therapist•Lancaster, CA (Correctional Facility)
Pay:
$74/hr | 1099 Contractor |
Bi-weekly Pay Contract:
6-Month Assignment•High Possibility to
Extend or Go Permanent Schedule Options:
Mon-Thu 7:00 AM•5:30 PM Mon-Fri 8:00 AM•4:30 PM Fri-Tues 7 am-5 pm OR Wed-Sun 7 am-5 pm (No weekends!)

Requirements:
1+ year of Recreation Therapy experience Active CTRS, NCTRC, or CBPRC certification/license BLS certification (American Heart Association)
What You'll Do:
Develop & lead recreation therapy programs for patient-inmates Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) Focus on daily living skills, communication, exercise, and coping strategies
