Management Professional Summary Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated Clubhouse with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Leadership Establish Unit programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained. Strategic Planning Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Unit overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation. Resource Management Manage Unit financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups. Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for unit staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings. Partnership Development Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations. Membership Recruitment Recruit and retain appropriate amount of youth into program according to the overall vision and expectations of the club. Marketing and Public Relations Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.
Internal :
Maintain close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Maintain regular contact with Unit Boards to advise and counsel as needed. Maintain regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
External :
Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club. Unit Directors are responsible for ensuring their clubs are viewed as a HUB of the community. These clubs represent our club as a whole and must be visible at community events, neighborhood meetings, advisory council meetings, etc.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with youth and understanding of youth development; Four-year degree from an accredited college or university required. A minimum of five years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization Strong written and oral communication skills Negative TB test CPR and First Aid Certification Background check clearance NCLB certification required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent standing and walking Ability to speak and hear Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds of school supplies or recreational equipment waist height) Hear and understand speech at normal levels Speak so that others may understand at normal levels
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase supplies and equipment. Work with staff on special events to carry out clubhouse programs Other duties as assigned by Area Director
WORKING CONDITIONS
Boys & Girls Clubs are often stressful, busy, and noisy environments. The Unit Director is expected to work in situations where many member and facilities related activities take place at the same time.
