Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of residents in our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant community atmosphere where residents feel valued, supported, and inspired to live their best lives every day. Responsibilities Plan, develop, and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs. Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and fitness classes that encourage participation and socialization. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with individual care plans and support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) as needed during events to promote independence and engagement. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while accommodating residents' routines. Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities or special needs, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all participants. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and improve offerings. Assess resident interest and activity needs at time of move-in and on an on-going basis. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia care techniques, and senior care best practices. Background in recreational therapy or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, and staff members. Experience assisting residents with ADLs and managing activity schedules efficiently. Familiarity with aging issues counseling and social work principles related to elder care is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to resident well-being. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
