Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging, meaningful programs that enhance the quality of life for residents in a senior living or assisted living community. This vital role involves designing, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity, and overall well-being for residents Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, themed activities, and recreational therapy sessions that cater to diverse interests and abilities Build strong relationships with residents by understanding their preferences, needs, and individual care plans Collaborate with staff members including nursing, caregiving teams, and community partners to ensure activities align with residents' health requirements and cognitive abilities Manage schedule planning for daily activities and special events while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) when necessary during activities to promote independence and engagement Maintain accurate records of participation, activity feedback, and resident progress; report any concerns related to resident well-being or behavior Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings Strong background in recreational therapy, geriatrics, dementia care, or Alzheimer's care Familiarity with long-term care operations and home & community care environments Excellent communication skills for engaging residents and collaborating with team members effectively Ability to develop innovative programs tailored to seniors' interests and abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Experience working with individuals with disabilities or memory impairments is highly desirable Demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination and resident rapport building Knowledge of aging issues counseling and senior living facility best practices Join us in creating a lively community where seniors feel valued, engaged, and supported.
