Youth Recreational Soccer Program Director Lee County Strikers Fort Myers, FL Job Details Contract $1 a year 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Job Summary The Recreational Program Director is responsible for the leadership, administration, and continued growth of Lee County Strikers' recreational soccer program. This individual oversees all aspects of seasonal programming for players ages 4-12, ensuring a fun, safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate soccer experience for players, families, and volunteer coaches. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth sports, possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, communicates effectively with families and volunteers, and is committed to creating a positive community environment while helping grow participation within the recreational program. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of each recreational soccer season. Develop seasonal timelines and ensure all program milestones are completed on schedule. Maintain high standards for player experience, sportsmanship, safety, and customer service. Evaluate each season and recommend improvements for future programming. Recruit, assign, and support volunteer coaches. Coordinate coach onboarding and ensure all required certifications and compliance requirements are completed. Provide coaches with practice plans, age-appropriate training resources, and ongoing support throughout the season. Attend practices and games as needed to mentor coaches and maintain program quality. Serve as the primary point of contact for recreational families. Manage the recreational program email account and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Work collaboratively with the Club Registrar and marketing team to promote registration and communicate important program information. Assist families with registration, scheduling, and program questions. Coordinate practice and game schedules with club leadership and county representatives. Ensure fields, equipment, uniforms, and program materials are organized and available. Coordinate team uniform distribution. Maintain accurate player rosters and team assignments. Promote recreational soccer within the community and identify opportunities to increase enrollment. Identify players who may be ready for competitive programming and collaborate with the Lee County Premier Director of Coaching. Plan and coordinate the end-of-season tournament and player recognition activities. Coordinate participation medals, trophies, and awards. Develop and cultivate relationships with local businesses and community organizations to identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities. Manage the recreational program budget in accordance with club guidelines. Qualifications Previous experience coaching or administering youth sports programs; soccer experience preferred. Current U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License (or higher) preferred. Equivalent coaching education and experience may be considered. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively lead volunteers and build positive relationships with players and families. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Passion for youth development and community engagement. Requirements Successful completion of all club-requirements, including background screening, SafeSport Certification and CDC Heads Up Concussion Training. Working Conditions Evening and weekend availability during each recreational season. Regular attendance at practices, games, tournaments, and preseason meetings. Ability to lift and transport equipment up to approximately 40 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Independent Contractor Status This position is classified as an Independent Contractor.
