Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Director to lead engaging, meaningful activities tailored to Seniors living in an Assisted Living Facility. In this vital role, you will create a vibrant, supportive environment that promotes cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and overall well-being for the Residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will inspire residents to enjoy each day to the fullest while fostering a warm community atmosphere. Responsibilities Develop, plan, and implement a diverse calendar of recreational activities designed specifically for residents with memory care needs, including therapeutic exercises, arts and crafts, music therapy, and social events. Foster an engaging environment that encourages participation while respecting each resident's individual preferences and abilities. Collaborate with caregiving staff to coordinate activities that assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promote independence, and enhance quality of life. Manage scheduling for activity programs, ensuring consistent delivery of enriching experiences tailored to residents' cognitive levels. Provide counseling and support to residents experiencing aging issues or dementia-related behaviors through specialized recreational therapy techniques. Communicate effectively with residents' families and team members to update on progress and adapt activities as needed for individual needs. Lead efforts in creating a safe, inclusive space that promotes socialization among residents with disabilities or special needs while maintaining compliance with safety protocols. Experience Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments focusing on senior care or memory care programs. Strong background in event planning, recreational therapy, or activities coordination for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with home & community care practices and experience assisting with ADLs in senior populations is highly desirable. Prior experience managing schedules and developing activity programs tailored to diverse needs within long-term care settings.
