Activities coordinator

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of residents in our senior living community. Responsibilities Plan, develop, and implement a diverse calendar of recreational activities that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia care needs Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events to encourage socialization and engagement Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to coordinate activities that support residents' physical and cognitive health goals Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events to promote independence and participation Manage activity schedules efficiently, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup of all events Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to gather feedback and tailor programs accordingly Maintain accurate records of participation and activity outcomes to monitor residents' progress and preferences Experience Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings Prior work with seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia care experience Strong understanding of aging issues, memory care techniques, and long-term care practices Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents from diverse backgrounds Knowledge of caregiving responsibilities related to assisting with ADLs and supporting residents' social needs Experience managing schedules efficiently while balancing multiple activities throughout the day Background in social work or related fields is a plus for providing holistic support to residents Join us in creating a lively community where every resident feels valued, engaged, and inspired.
