Full-time Job Summary:
Eagle Lake Nursing & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and creative Activities Director to lead and coordinate a comprehensive activity program for our residents. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that enhance quality of life and support residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. The Activities Director ensures compliance with all federal, state (AHCA), and facility regulations while fostering a vibrant, resident-centered environment. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and experienced in long-term care activity programming.Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee a monthly activities calendar tailored to resident interests and needs Conduct activity assessments upon admission and ongoing quarterly reviews Ensure individualized care plans include appropriate activity goals and interventions Coordinate group and one-on-one activities, including social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs Plan and facilitate special events, holiday celebrations, and community involvement opportunities Maintain compliance with AHCA, CMS, and facility regulations for activity programming and documentation Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (nursing, therapy, social services) to support resident engagement Supervise activity staff and volunteers, including scheduling and training Manage department supplies, inventory, and budget effectively Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging activity environmentQualifications :
Previous experience in activities programming within a skilled nursing or long-term care setting required Certification as an Activity Director (ADC or equivalent) preferred; must meet Florida state requirements Knowledge of AHCA and CMS regulations related to activity services Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to lead group activities and engage residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused approachPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working with memory care or dementia residents Prior supervisory experience Familiarity with PointClickCare or similar EMR systemsAbout Eagle Lake Nursing & Rehab:
