The Student Involvement and Leadership Center creates opportunities for students to explore purpose, build meaningful connections, and develop the capacity to lead. Job Summary/Purpose:
The Student Activities Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of campus programs and events that support the educational and social mission of Boise State University. This position plays a key role in creating a vibrant campus experience through large-scale traditions and ongoing programming, including Homecoming Week, Bronco Welcome, Campus Awards Ceremony, Spring Fling, late-night programming, and other engagement initiatives. The Coordinator also contributes to the execution of departmental marketing and communications strategies by supporting program promotion, student outreach, and engagement efforts. This role supervises student staff across programming, marketing, and social media functions, providing leadership and professional development to ensure high-quality program delivery and effective communication with the campus community. Please note, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
Student Activities Development, Advising, and Support Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with student organization leaders, campus partners, and advisors to support student engagement and campus involvement. Plan, implement, and assess educational and social programs, including Homecoming Week, Bronco Welcome, Spring Fling, Campus Awards, and late-night programming, with attention to logistics, risk management, and financial stewardship. Serve as a departmental liaison on campus committees and collaborative initiatives supporting signature events and student engagement efforts. Student Staff Supervision and Development Supervise, advise, and support student employees through hiring, training, mentoring, evaluation, and professional development efforts. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that supports employee growth, performance, and retention. Program Marketing and Communications Execution Support the implementation of departmental marketing and communications strategies for campus activities and events. Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate messaging, promotional timelines, and outreach efforts across digital, print, and social media platforms. Guide student staff in content creation and outreach efforts to maintain a consistent and engaging departmental presence. Administrative, Operational, and Departmental Support Support departmental operations through program logistics, budget management, contract coordination, assessment activities, and event implementation. Collect and evaluate program data to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making. Participate in departmental initiatives, university committees, cross-functional teams, and divisional events while representing the department and contributing subject-matter expertise. Perform other duties as assigned.

They are skilled at building relationships with students and campus partners, supporting engaging campus experiences, and contributing to continuous improvement through assessment and collaboration. The ideal candidate is adaptable, dependable, and committed to enhancing the student experience through creative programming, teamwork, and effective student support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and; 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Leadership, Communications, Event Management, or a related field. Experience working in student affairs, campus activities, student engagement, or related areas within higher education. Experience planning and implementing campus events, programs, and student engagement initiatives. Demonstrated experience advising or supervising student employees, student leaders, or student organizations. Experience supporting marketing and communications efforts, including social media, digital outreach, and promotional campaigns. Knowledge of event planning, risk management, budgeting, and contract coordination practices. Experience using a campus engagement platform such as CampusGroups, Engage, or similar.
Salary and Benefit s:
Salary for this role starts at $50,065.60, commensurate with experience.
