Activity Aid

Activity Aid Job Summary:

The Activity Aid at Joliet Living and Rehab Center LLC is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents. This includes observing resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement, and charting activity progress notes. The ideal candidate will have a patient, cheerful disposition, and be willing to handle residents in a professional and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs and quality assurance programs in the Activities Department Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement and chart activity progress notes Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the facility Assist in preparing activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs Recommend equipment and supply needs to supervisors Purchase department supplies, clothing, and personal items for residents Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and follow facility guidelines Oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being Assist with in-room residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and performing crafts and projects as needed

Qualifications:

Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Ability to work independently and as part of a team
