Duties Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of engaging activities and events that cater to residents' interests and abilities, including social gatherings, recreational therapy sessions, and special celebrations. Develop innovative programs focused on memory care, dementia support, and aging issues counseling to enhance residents' quality of life. Coordinate resident events while ensuring safety protocols and accessibility standards are maintained at all times. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, understanding their preferences, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. Lead and supervise activity staff and volunteers to ensure seamless program delivery and foster a collaborative team environment. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, program outcomes, and feedback to continually improve activity offerings. Experience Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings. Demonstrated knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and senior living facility operations. Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in a caregiving or recreational therapy capacity. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and coordinate multiple programs simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Familiarity with home & community care practices and program development tailored for geriatric patients. Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively, build resident rapport, and collaborate with families and healthcare providers.
