In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with Mental Health Conditions and Dementa. Your positive energy will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while utilizing your skills in event planning, recreational therapy, and senior care. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, including memory care and aging issues counseling Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities that promote socialization and community involvement Collaborate with care staff to identify individual preferences and adapt activities accordingly Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages participation from residents with varying abilities and disabilities Manage schedules for daily activities and special events to ensure smooth operation and maximum resident engagement Experience Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of mental health, dementia care and senior care best practices Experience in event planning or recreational therapy within long-term or home & community care environments Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members Proven ability to manage schedules efficiently while maintaining flexibility for resident needs Background working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is advantageous This role is ideal for compassionate individuals eager to bring energy and creativity into the lives of seniors.
