The Arts Coordinator is a full-time position that will support the rollout of St. Martin Parish Schools' whole-school STEAM arts integration approach.Job Summary:
- Lead the rollout of whole-school STEAM arts integration across the magnet school, share best practices, and troubleshoot any implementation issues that may arise.
- Communicate and collaborate with teachers to facilitate the smooth implementation of the arts-infused STEAM program at the appropriate magnet school(s).
- Assist school team with the development of arts content integrated across core academic subjects, incorporating research-based approaches, developing course sequences, and designing hands-on learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Project Director to assess and identify professional development needs of staff at the appropriate magnet school(s).
- Work with artists in residence to facilitate opportunities for the artists to provide coaching and professional learning relevant to identified needs.
- Deliver job-embedded professional development to educators and other staff at the appropriate magnet school.
- Empower teachers to develop competency with interdisciplinary and arts-integrated approaches via in-class coaching and co-teaching.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Valid Louisiana teacher's license.
- Four years of relevant experience in an educational position focused on STEM, arts integration approaches, and problem-based learning.
- Experience in teacher development and coaching of curricula units, instructional sequences, and performance-based assessments.
