Job Description

Primary Purpose and Job Function:
Assists Life Enrichment Director in developing and coordinating a successful activities and volunteer programs for Independent, Assisted and Memory Care areas. This includes internal and external communication about activities-focused care programming. Assess the Residents' interests and plan and manage a calendar that will meet the needs and interests of the Residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in assesses the Residents' social needs and develops a meaningful activity program based on those needs. Works with Director to develop and plan the monthly program calendar. Posts and/or distributes information and materials regarding events and activities. Visits each Resident on a regular basis to reassess activity needs to ensure that interests and needs are being met. Assists in managing all supply and material orders required to facilitate social programs in the community. Inspects recreation equipment to determine repair, maintenance needs and cleanliness and make necessary arrangements of repairs/maintenance. Attends mealtime activities, including escorting Residents to the dining room, and, at times, assisting with the serving of meals as needed. Helps to coordinate the activities program with other departments and services in the facility. Understands the complexities of Dementia and Alzheimer's and other related memory disorders and attends educational seminars to expand knowledge in the area. Promotes and practices safety management in accordance with safety policies and procedures. Assists Director in scheduling transportation on facility vehicles. Escorts Residents on scheduled outings. Assists in all other departments when needed to ensure that Residents' needs are met and the highest quality of care is maintained. Assists in cleaning of Activities Lounge and maintaining a pleasant environment (and other areas activities are held in). Ensures compliance of all federal, state, and local regulations
