Opportunity Summary:
Join the Origami team as a Recreational Therapy Aide and make a meaningful difference in our clients' lives! Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and in close collaboration with the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), you'll provide exceptional care and support tailored to each client's treatment plan and program curriculum. Your role is pivotal in fostering clients' independence through structured individual and group interventions, both onsite and in the community. Employee Assistance Program Employer-sponsored Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) education and credentialing Employer provided liability coverage Responsibilities (full job description provided prior to interview) Promote positive morale among peers by modeling and encouraging effective teamwork and communications. Assume responsibility for knowledge and implementation of program policies, procedures, and assigned client treatment plans. Maintain working knowledge of each assigned client, including level of engagement, and strategies to maximize participation. Ensure clients are prepared for programs and have the necessary support for successful participation, not limited to medications, dietary restrictions, behavioral concerns, and client safety. Utilize a variety of therapeutic methods, equipment, positioning, and make appropriate adaptations to recreation interventions and equipment as recommended by the CTRS. Monitor and report relevant observations regarding program participation, psychosocial skills, behaviors, and functional status. Report changes to the CTRS and interdisciplinary team as appropriate with suggestions for modifications. Immediately reports safety concerns to CTRS. Provide transportation and lead community-based activities while providing direction, organization, and problem solving for safety and maximum functional participation from the clients. Implement plans of care for clients as developed by the CTRS and maintain consistent communication regarding client care needs. Promote client participation in recreational interventions through education and communication of opportunities, including regular check-ins with clients who are not actively engaging in group programming Document progress notes and service billings in a timely manner and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts. Collaborate with involved staff to ensure consistent follow-through of recreational interventions. Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required One to six months of related experience and/or training preferred Possess a valid State Driver's License Certification in the employer's Training Curriculum including AED, CPR, and First Aid (provided after hire)Physical Requirements:
